Supporting Community Initiatives
Does your community or sporting group need help with information on getting a new project or activity underway? Would you like to see new services and facilities in the community, but don’t know how to get people involved, or what assistance may be available? If this is you, then Council’s Sport & Recreation Officer's, James Black and Steve Bankier may be able to help you.
During this year’s budget process, Council identified the need for a central contact person within Council, where people can obtain information on what resources may be available to help with community projects and activities. Council has appointed its Sport & Recreation Officer's, James Black and Steve Bankier as the contact people.
Depending on the nature of your proposal, Council may be able to provide either some financial assistance or in-kind support, within the scope of its current programs. Council has a number of existing community support programs, as listed below. If your project is not eligible for assistance under a Council program, James and Steve will do all that they can to help you identify other possible sources of assistance.
