Street Numbering

Council is the only designated authority for determining appropriate street numbering to be used.

Developers and builders are not to allocate their own numbers. Numbers allocated by Council are used by emergency services during dispatch and conform to an Australian standard.

Use of numbers other than those assigned by Council can influence response times of emergency services and otherwise cause confusion.

Corner blocks are allocated a main number and an alternative number. As a general rule, the allocated street number of all allotments is related to the main entrance of the property or the letterbox location.

Council would appreciate if you could check that the number that you are currently using for your street address and that shown on your letter box, is the same as that shown on your most recent rates notice. If it isn’t please contact Council on the Council's general number or email.
